The House is now open
We are now open to the public and will be open
until Tuesday the 02nd September 2008
Open Monday to Friday afternoons only from 1.00 pm until 5.30 pm,
with the last admission being 4.00 pm.
We will be open on the August Bank Holiday Monday - 25th August 2008

Guided Tours |
|
The visit to Broadlands House is by guided tour
only. This arrangement was introduced a few years ago to provide a more
informative and personal tour of the House and has been a great success with our
visitors.
The Mountbatten Exhibition is
self-guiding.

In 2008 the House will be open from Thursday the 26th June
until Tuesday the 02nd September.
Open Monday to Friday afternoons only from 1.00 pm until 5.30 pm,

Group
Visit Arrangements |
|
|
Group visits are welcome at any time during
advertised opening hours. Pre-booking is essential, particularly for groups of
30 or more, as it enables scheduling the correct number of House guides and
generally planning of a smoother visit. Bookings should be made with the Group
Visits Organiser.

Admission Rates for the 2008

An all-inclusive ticket is issued covering the guided tour of the House
and the Mountbatten Exhibition

Children 12 -14
£4.00
Children under 12 are free with an accompanying paying adult.
Groups of 15 or more visitors are charged at the concessionary rate

Exempted Items tours |
|
A further selection of items from the
collection ( not normally on view to the public ) can
be seen by guided tour for ten days each year. These are without
prior appointment
but because the numbers of tours and the number of
participants per tour are limited,
advanced booking is strongly
recommended.
The exempt items tours are available at 2.00pm; 3.00 pm & 4.00 pm on
26th, 27th & 30th June 2008; 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 7th, 8th & 9th July 2008
The charge for these tours is £11.00
per person with NO concessions

Information for Coach Drivers
and Couriers |
The tour of
the House takes approximately 40 minutes and the visit to the Mountbatten
Exhibition a further 30 minutes. We therefore recommend that you allow a total
of between 11/2
to 2 hours for an unrushed visit to Broadlands. On this basis we recommend that
groups arrive no later than 3 p.m.

Toilet
facilities |
|
There are
regularly serviced public toilet facilities in the car park area.

NOTE that there are no other facilities once you walk to the House |
|
Disabled Visitors |
|
Disabled visitors, who have mobility problems, only
have access to the ground floor of the Mountbatten Exhibition.
There is a lavatory for the disabled in the House.
Those visitors who have mobility problems may be dropped in the Stable Yard,
close to the House, by prior arrangement with the Group Visits Organiser.

School Groups |
School groups are welcome at any time during
advertised opening hours provided that a prior booking has been made with the
Group Visits Organiser.
 |

Catering Facilities |
|
There are no catering facilities available.
There is however a picnic area adjacent to the visitors' car park equipped with
a small
number of
picnic tables.
There are a wide range of catering facilities in Romsey itself, which is close
by, and further details can be obtained from the Romsey Heritage & Visitor

Shop Facilities |
|
There is a small gift shop at Broadlands adjacent to Visitor reception open from
1.00 pm to 5.00 pm, which offers a very limited range of postcards,
souvenirs, local and general interest books on the late Lord Louis Mountbatten. |

Parking for Coaches and Cars |
Broadlands has its own visitors' car park providing
free parking for up to 20 coaches and 700 cars.
